Blaauwberg Nature Reserve

Stretching along the coast north of Bloubergstrand, this City of Cape Town reserve protects endangered coastal fynbos and dunefields with postcard views of Table Mountain across the bay. From the Eerstesteen access point the circular 4.4 km Coastal Dune Hiking Trail loops through the dunes, a gentler botanical walk suits amblers, and volunteer-guided flower walks run when the spring wildflowers appear. Plan around one firm rule: dogs are not allowed anywhere in the reserve, and cycling is also prohibited.
