Blue Lagoon sits where the Umgeni River meets the Indian Ocean on Durban's northern beachfront, a well-known spot for picnics, fishing and photographing the city skyline and harbour entrance from the pier. Open lawns and a paved promenade draw joggers, families and dog walkers throughout the day. Dogs are welcome here on a leash for beach and park walks, though the area gets busy on weekends, so bringing water and waste bags helps.
