A forest station deep in the indigenous Knysna forest, part of Garden Route National Park, centred on ancient yellowwood trees and the area's elephant history. Three signposted day trails, known as the Elephant Trails, loop out from the forest station and picnic site, ranging from an easy 8km circuit to a moderate 7km route through dense canopy. SANParks does not allow dogs on these trails or elsewhere in the park's forest areas, partly to protect dogs from predators.
Note from SitnStay: SANParks does not allow dogs on the Diepwalle hiking trails or elsewhere in Garden Route National Park's forest areas, both to protect wildlife and to keep dogs safe from predators.
