A rocky koppie rising out of suburban Sandton, this small municipal reserve is a Provincial Heritage Site holding three Stone Age iron-smelting furnaces, resident dassies and wide views over Johannesburg from the summit. The fenced koppie section opens on weekends between September and April, and dogs are not allowed inside it. The adjoining Lonehill Park, with its dam, lawns and playground, is the dog-friendly half: leashed dogs are welcome there and poop bags and bins are provided.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs are not allowed inside the fenced koppie nature reserve. The adjoining Lonehill Park welcomes dogs on a lead at all times, with poop bags and bins provided.
