The coffee shop at the Piggly Wiggly country centre on the R103 Midlands Meander at Lions River, just outside Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. It opens at 8am every day for big breakfasts, brunch plates, lunches, cakes baked each morning and well-regarded coffee, on a walk-in, no-reservations basis. The surrounding centre adds shops, putt-putt, a mini train, a zipline and craft activities, so families tend to linger. Leashed dogs are welcome at the tables, and visitors are asked to bring bags to clean up after them.
