Dogs can't come inside.
More than 50 hectares of natural land along the Nels River, north of the Riverside Park precinct in Mbombela, and the anchor site of the Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative, a 280-hectare plan to link green spaces across the area. Walking and cycling trails, picnic areas and a coffee shop are part of the vision, with current access via Green Valley Estate, where 3 km and 5 km trail runs have drawn families, some bringing their pets. A weekly parkrun is also held at the reserve. No formal dog rules have been published yet.
Note from SitnStay: Still being developed as a public reserve; organised fun runs have welcomed families with pets, but no formal dog policy has been published. Parkrun's standard rule of dogs on a short lead applies to the Saturday event.
