On Durban's Golden Mile in South Beach, Addington Beach is a wide sandy stretch a short walk from uShaka Marine World, with shark nets, year-round lifeguards and warm water suited to swimming, bodyboarding and surfing. Grassy patches invite sunbathing and picnics, and restaurants line the promenade behind it. It's a touch quieter than its neighbours along the same stretch, where the local by-law permits leashed dogs on the promenade.
Note from SitnStay: Not confirmed for Addington Beach by name, but the eThekwini Animals By-law 2022 permits dogs on leash along the Durban Beachfront Promenade, including at the neighbouring uShaka and Country Club beaches on the same Golden Mile stretch.
