Bayleaf Café

Set in a restored old house on Cathedral Street in central George, this breakfast-and-brunch cafe pairs French furniture indoors with a landscaped English-style garden courtyard out back, where a fountain and dense planting give the tables a private feel. Everything is made from scratch, with a French and Italian slant to the benedicts, salads, waffles and pizzas, and there is a small gift shop. Open weekday mornings to mid-afternoon and Saturday mornings. Dogs are welcome as long as you sit outside in the back garden.
