One of South Africa's most photographed beaches, Clifton 4th is a small protected cove on the Atlantic side of the peninsula near Camps Bay. Environmental programmes and lifesaving training run here, and lifeguards patrol during the Blue Flag season from December to March. Parking is limited and there's no disability access. The City of Cape Town's own rules ban dogs completely from November through March, but let them run free off-leash for the rest of the year.
Note from SitnStay: City of Cape Town: no dogs allowed at all between November and March; dogs may run free at all other times of year.
