On the corner of Buckingham and Rothesay Avenues in Craighall Park, this owner-run neighbourhood bistro has been serving Johannesburg since 2003 and now seats around 240. Chef Greig Walker's kitchen makes its own pasta and bread, runs a wood-fired pizza oven, and caters for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. A veranda and candlelit pavement tables overlook the Braamfontein Spruit, so walkers and runners from the greenbelt drift in afterwards. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Open 8am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and until 4pm on Sundays.
Note from SitnStay: The cafe states that well-behaved dogs are welcome; it sits beside the Braamfontein Spruit trail and draws plenty of neighbourhood dogs after walks.
