Eastern Beach

Eastern Beach is East London's main urban beach, a wide stretch of sand backed by a promenade lined with cafes and take-away spots. Black rocks dot the shoreline, and the waves draw surfers when sandbanks line up, alongside swimmers, paddleboarders and anglers. Changing rooms and picnic areas serve the crowds who use it for community events and everyday relaxation. It sits within walking distance of the city centre, on the Indian Ocean coast.
