Elephant Walk Restaurant & Chalets

Opened in 1997 by Belgian-born chef Nadia Damseaux on Doorly Road in the leafy smallholdings of Colleen Glen, about twenty minutes from central Gqeberha, this country restaurant blends French and Belgian cooking with South African venison: mussels, fillet bearnaise, duck a l'orange, pies and artisan pizza. A log fire burns in winter, and the grounds also hold four self-catering chalets with kitchenettes and fireplaces, a farm shop, an antique store and an indigenous nursery. Dogs may join you at an outside table, and the chalets take pets too.
