Two huge wild fig trees shade the garden tables at this old-fashioned cafe on Leisure Isle in Knysna, a short detour off the main road at 5 Hall Road. The kitchen keeps things simple and homemade: quiches, burgers, toasted sandwiches, pancakes, seasonal soups, salads with house dressing, and a counter of cakes. Inside there are cloth-covered tables, local paintings and a shelf of locally written books. A children's climbing area, free wifi and takeaways round it out, and dogs are welcome.
Note from SitnStay: The cafe's own site says dogs are welcome. Most seating is outdoors under the fig trees, which suits dogs best; there is also an indoor room.
