On the edge of Bloemfontein next to Pellissier, this community-run nature reserve was established in 2010 to protect indigenous vegetation and local wildlife. Brandkop Conservancy's network of walking, running and mountain-biking trails winds through natural veld maintained largely by volunteer effort, and it has become a popular spot for dog walkers exploring off the beaten path. Access is informal and community-funded, with visitors asked to notify organisers ahead of any group events.
