This stretch of the Hermanus Cliff Path runs beneath an old milkwood forest, with White Milkwood, Wild Camphor, Boekenhout and Cape Holly growing alongside the trail as it follows the coastline. It forms part of a roughly twelve-kilometre coastal walk linked to Fernkloof Nature Reserve, with sea views, birdlife and, in season, whale sightings from the cliffs. Cycling is not permitted, and dogs are required to stay on a leash and have any mess cleared up, a rule the local community actively polices along this popular walking route.
Note from SitnStay: Per BirdLife Overberg's description of the cliff path, dogs must be kept on a leash and droppings removed; cycling is prohibited. Local residents actively remind dog owners of the leash rule.
