Inside Montrose Nursery on South Road in Morningside, this family-run cafe spreads its tables through the nursery gardens for a green break from Sandton traffic. It serves breakfast and lunch daily from 8.30am to 4pm: burgers, pies in a mug, eggs Benedict, pasta, salads, bagels and Illy coffee, with cheesecake for afterwards. Children get a large outdoor play zone with jumping pillows, a bike track, mini soccer and basketball. Leashed dogs are welcome in the designated outside section, where water bowls are put out for them.
