Hatcheries Park is a community park in Chase Valley, Pietermaritzburg, that stood neglected and overgrown for years before a local security company, Mi7 National Group, took over its upkeep in 2021 as part of a community wellness initiative. The revamp brought an upgraded children's play area and new benches, turning a former crime hotspot into a family-friendly green space. Entry is free, and alcohol and drugs are prohibited on site.
