Shaded slopes above the M3 in Newlands, where pine and gum plantations give way to indigenous forest threaded with mountain streams. Paths range from gentle streamside strolls to steep climbs up Newlands Ravine and Skeleton Gorge, with the Contour Path linking the two. Entry is free and parking is paid. This is a designated Table Mountain National Park dog-walking area: a SANParks activity permit is required, dogs may run off-lead on the forest trails under close control, and they are barred from the picnic and braai areas.

Dogs may be off-lead on the forest trails but must be under control, kept on a lead until inside the forest area, and are not allowed in the braai and picnic areas.
