On the lower slopes of Table Mountain above Vredehoek, Deer Park is a City Bowl favourite with dog walkers, its looping paths delivering views of Devil's Peak, Lion's Head and the city below without any punishing climbs. Shorter and longer loops suit dogs of all abilities, including puppies. The land falls within Table Mountain National Park, so dog walkers need a SANParks My Activity Permit and dogs should be kept on a leash. The dog-friendly Deer Park Cafe sits at the park's edge for a post-walk coffee.

Note from SitnStay: Deer Park lies within Table Mountain National Park, where dog walking requires an annual SANParks My Activity Permit covering up to two dogs per walker. Dogs must be on a leash and under their owner's control at all times.
