Dogs can't come inside.
A small, secluded cove near Knysna reached by a footpath or 4x4 track through indigenous forest, known for the handful of castle-like holiday homes built above the sand. The beach and lagoon sit inside the community-run Noetzie Conservancy, which protects nesting shorebirds and coastal fynbos. Dogs are welcome on the main beach on a leash at all times, but are not permitted east of the Noetzie River, which falls inside the adjoining Sinclair Nature Reserve.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs must stay leashed at all times on the beach to protect nesting shorebirds such as the White-fronted Plover, which nest November to January; dogs are banned entirely east of the Noetzie River within the Sinclair Nature Reserve, and owners are asked to clean up after their dogs.
