7 Damme, officially the Seven Dams Conservancy, is an 86-hectare stretch of municipal veld and dams on the northern edge of Bloemfontein, managed by a nonprofit Friends group. Gravel trails wind past the dams for hiking, birdwatching, trail running and mountain biking, with access through coded gates shared among members and their guests. Dogs are welcome throughout but must stay leashed at all times, and owners are expected to clear up after them; open fires, alcohol and camping are not permitted.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs must be leashed at all times per municipal by-law, and owners must remove faeces from the trails. No motorised vehicles, open fires, alcohol, smoking or camping are allowed anywhere in the conservancy.
