Jan Cilliers Park

Also known as Protea Park, this 4.5-hectare landscaped garden in Groenkloof, Pretoria is built around a stream that tumbles down fourteen miniature waterfalls between two ponds, surrounded by indigenous planting. It suits an unhurried stroll rather than a workout, and neighbourhood dogs gather with their owners on the lawns in the evenings. There are toilets, parking at the Broderick Street entrance and a local security watch, but no restaurant, so bring your own picnic.
