Nine hectares of indigenous ridge-top bush on the Lukasrand and Muckleneuk ridge, a short drive south of Pretoria's city centre, looked after by City of Tshwane Nature Conservation together with the volunteer Friends of Kruin Park. Stone paths laid decades ago and a marked trail of about 2 km wind between wildflowers and grassland, with picnic spots and city views along the way. The reserve is fenced with seven gates around its perimeter, entry is free, and dogs are welcome on a lead, a rule conservation staff enforce to protect birdlife.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs must be kept on a lead under the Tshwane public amenities by-law, which Nature Conservation staff apply strictly because of the risk to birdlife. Open 07:00-18:00 in winter (May-August) and 06:30-18:30 in summer (September-April).
