A protected cove within Table Mountain National Park, tucked between Bakoven and Llandudno on Victoria Road and facing the Twelve Apostles Hotel. Oudekraal's boulder-sheltered bay is a Marine Protected Area popular for snorkelling, with kelp forests, klipfish and even harmless pyjama sharks visible in calm months, plus 35 braai spots shaded by milkwood trees and a grassy picnic area. It's a paid-entry SANParks site, open daily from 8am to 6pm, with no alcohol allowed and limited on-site parking.
Note from SitnStay: SANParks requires a paid annual permit for dog walking within Table Mountain National Park and restricts dogs to a short list of designated areas (Silvermine, Noordhoek Beach, Tokai and Constantia Nek); Oudekraal is not among the areas listed for dog walking.
