Muizenberg is False Bay's surfing hub, its Surfer's Corner backed by eight brightly painted historic bathing huts and a strip of surf shops and cafes. The beach has drawn holidaymakers for more than a century and remains one of Cape Town's most recognisable stretches of sand, with a railway station a short walk from the water and a shark-spotting programme watching the line-up. Dogs are welcome on a leash, though they're barred from the sand between 09:00 and 18:00 from November to March.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 09:00 and 18:00 from November to March; at all other times, including outside those hours in summer and year-round from April to October, dogs must be kept on a leash. No off-leash window is designated here.
