Diaz Beach is a long, sand-bottomed beach in Mossel Bay and one of the best spots on the Garden Route to learn to surf, with a resident surf school running lessons and rentals from the beach. It's a lively summer stretch, with beach bars, events, and restaurants clustering near the beachfront hotel in season. Dogs may be walked on the beach between 06:00 and 20:00 outside the municipality's Blue Flag restricted period.
Note from SitnStay: Under Mossel Bay municipal rules, dogs may be walked on the beach between 06:00 and 20:00 from 1 February to 30 November; dogs are barred during the Blue Flag season (9 December to 10 January) and must be leashed, under control, with owners required to clean up after them.
