Santos Beach is Mossel Bay's main swimming beach, a wide stretch of golden sand with calm, sheltered water and Blue Flag status. The 1916 Santos Pavilion, styled after Brighton's Royal Pavilion, houses a café and restaurant right on the sand, and lifeguards patrol through summer. It's a good spot for snorkelling, fishing, and dolphin or whale watching, with boat trips to nearby Seal Island departing close by. Dogs may be walked outside the Blue Flag season, but not while the flag is flying.
Note from SitnStay: Dogs are not allowed on the beach while Blue Flag status is in effect (peak summer season); from 1 February to 30 November, dog owners may walk their dogs on the beach between 06:00 and 20:00.
