This rocky stretch of coastline marks the start of the St Blaize hiking trail, below the St Blaize Lighthouse and next to The Point Hotel in Mossel Bay. Two tidal pools, a smaller one on the beach and a larger natural pool in front of the hotel, make it better suited to a cool dip than open-water swimming. It works well for a scenic walk, rockpooling, or the first leg of the 13.5km trail toward Dana Bay.
Note from SitnStay: Mossel Bay municipal bylaws allow dogs on a leash on beaches outside the Blue Flag list (Santos, Hartenbos, Klein Brak River, Glentana); owners must keep dogs under control and clean up after them, with added walking-hour restrictions during December-January.
