Sitting inside Table Mountain National Park on the Cape Peninsula, this small reservoir was built in 1898 to supply Cape Town with water and today anchors a network of walking and mountain-biking trails between the Kalk Bay range and Constantiaberg. A gentle path circles the water with peninsula views, and picnic spots sit among the fynbos and sandstone caves. Leashed dogs are welcome on the reserve's trails, including the river walk toward Elephant's Eye cave.
